Thousands of journalists from around the World descended on El-Ezba this week, attempting to test El-Ezba's mood, as Barack ibn el-Hagg Hussein Obama starting officially his presidency.
"I don't understand what this fuss is all about?" asked a citizen of El-Ezba who preferred not to mention his name. "Amreeka is happy they have a black president? We already did it before! Other neighboring Ezbas did it too, so what the fuck man?!"
Other Ezba citizens were less cynical, expressing Obama's presidency would indeed signal a new era of change.
"He will bring change," asserted Mahmoud Sa'd, a carpenter who runs a local medical clinic in El-Ezba. "He is a man of change. He changed his mind so many times before. "
Well placed sources in the ruling El-Ezba said diplomatic ties between the two sovereign countries were expected to continue, solid and strong...
"Gamal Beih already has an Obama picture up on his office wall," said one of the Beih's confidants. "They both share a vision for change, that will change a lot of the the things that need to be changed."
While Gamal Beih had been unreachable, spokesperson Abdel Shakour Gobles confirmed Gamal Beih and Diga Hanem will be heading for Washington DC soon for a weekend with the Obamas.
"That will be a test for Obama's commitment to change," said Doktor Baheeg, an expert on El-Ezba affairs, and a senior lecturer at El-Ezba Open College. "Despite our close relations with Amreeka, El-Beih was always given a small room to stay in whenever he visited the White House. We'll see how big the room will be this time, and whether there will be a toilet attached. If Gamal Beih is given the same room, then so much for change."
